  • Prosecutor's Summary statement (website) of the warrant for Bashir's arrest by the International Criminal Court. The following article available in EBSCOhost is another person's view (Mamdani) on the background of the conflicts that led to the crisis in Darfur. Because I could not find the actual application for the arrest warrant, this article may prove helpful in some of the quotations/statistics it uses from the original.

  • Another website of interest on Al-Bashir is the Sudan Tribune, which gives good background information, especially under the section "1989 Coup," where the article quotes Bashir on "purging" the opposition.
